The week I was in Monhegan this year there were two back to back Nor'Easters - not ideal for a plein air painter. Finding cover was at a premium, but I set up on the porch of the Island Inn overlooking the ferry dock. You can see by the flag on the back of the boat and breakers crashing in the harbor just how windy it was. There were no vehicles in the painting when I started until the ferry pulled up and the local trucks that haul freight showed up. I like the way the headlights reflect on the wet ground.
