This painting is of a group of houses I have painted on several occaissions. What interests me is the repeating shapes of the house gables as they go up the hill. I also was interested in the temperature of the light on the white house - trying to get the balance between the warm white and cool shadows, while maintaining the sense of reflected light. The light remains fairly constant all morning, and it isn't until 2:00 that the shadows swing around in a different direction.
