This scene was painted from the north side of Frostburg, looking down one of the steepest streets in town. Besides the overall vista looking out towards Savage Mountain, I was interested in how the houses seemed to tumble down the hill - the triangles of their gable ends repeating down the hill. The pick up truck was also parked on an impossible angle and hopefully had great parking breaks. When I originally painted this, the painting was overall too cool in temperature. I have worked back into it to warm up the areas of light, and add some warmth to the shadows.
