This painting was done in Port Clyde Maine in August of 2010. I had wandered around the waterfront, and came upon this fishing boat that was at the dock unloading. I was drawn to the rust running down the sides, and the red stripe on the boat. There also was an interesting contrast with the landscape in the background with the ubiquitous pine trees that line the shores in coastal Maine. The boat pulled out before I finished the painting, so the next day it was docked in a different location - I ended up including the boat twice in the painting.
